The 2023 Ocean Youth information evening will be held on Friday 18 November at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast teenagers keen to enhance their knowledge of ocean conservation are invited to take part in the 2023 Ocean Youth program.

Locals aged between 15-18 years can attend the Ocean Youth information session at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium on Friday 18 November between 4pm-5pm to find out if they have what it takes to become an Ocean Youth Ambassador.

The 2023 Ambassadors will need a passion for marine conservation to take part in the unique year-long program, which involves interactive keeper sessions, skills building activities and exciting nature-based experiences.

From snorkelling with sharks with Sunreef to learning about turtle rescue and rehabilitation at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast, Ocean Youth Ambassadors will gain an extraordinary insight into the protection of marine wildlife and develop new skills to enact positive behaviour change in their communities.

A gift voucher for the 2023 program is the perfect Christmas present for adventurous, ocean-loving teenagers.

Ocean Youth Facilitator Chloe Zatta is excited to meet the next crop of students who are passionate about protecting the ocean.

“2023 will be the sixth year we have run the Ocean Youth program on the Sunshine Coast. Our aim is to educate and inspire young people to conserve and protect our oceans. We hope to share the skills these teenagers need to become tomorrow’s leaders in ocean sustainability,” said Chloe.

The year-long Ocean Youth program is $650 per participant, which includes six interactive workshops, an annual pass to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast and access to online webinars and courses. Payment plans are available.

Ocean Youth is funded and run by Ocean Future Fund and is proudly supported by SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast. Further information can be found here:
